Vigilance nets BDO

Bagaha, July 19: Block development officer (BDO) of Ramnagar in West Champaran was caught red-handed accepting bribe at his official residence this morning.

A vigilance team caught the BDO, Jawaharlal Singh, accepting Rs 10,000 from one Gokhul Yadav for favouring him in an encroachment case pending for disposal in his revenue court.

Bagaha superintendent of police Anil Kumar Singh confirmed that the BDO-cum-circle officer was trapped by the vigilance team led by Sheo Kumar Ratan, a deputy superintendent of police-rank officer.
