Bhagalpur, Jan. 23: For his colleagues and followers, he was Bijuda. Many of them gathered at his house to grieve, after veteran Communist trade union leader Bijendra Narayan Singh, who passed away yesterday.

Singh (80) had suffered a brain haemorrhage following a cerebral stroke a week ago, said his son Rajiv Siddharth.

Political colleagues attended his cremation at the Barari Ghat this afternoon.

Singh was the state convener of Union Council of Trade Unions and a state committee member of CPM. He was also a representative of former CPM Bhagalpur MP Subodh Roy.
