Bhim Rao Ambedkar Bihar University vice-chancellor Ravi Verma has lodged a complaint against external examination co-ordinator Ramendra Kumar Singh for alleged gross negligence of duties.
Singh is a reader at the zoology department of the Anugrah Narayan College, Patna, which is affiliated to Magadh University, Bodhgaya. He was the co-ordinator for the postgraduate exams conducted in August 2012 and had the responsibility for evaluating answer scripts.
Verma has lodged his complaint with Magadh University vice-chancellor (VC) Nandjee Kumar and Governor D.Y. Patil. The results of the postgraduate courses were announced in February this year. Most of the students performed very well. The mark sheets of the students were also distributed soon after.
On August 18, special tabulator Sushil Kumar Singh informed the university examination board and examination controller Arun Kumar Singh that hundreds of copies, which were sent to Magadh University for evaluation, had been returned unchecked.
Vice-chancellor Verma would meet with senior officials of the university on August 27 and send a request to the governor asking him to bar Singh from examination duty.
