Patna, Jan. 7: Six trainee IPS officers received one-and-a-half-hour lecture from director-general of police (DGP) Abhayanand when they were called to watch the functioning of the chief minister’s janata durbar at 1 Aney Marg.
Sporting new uniform, the probationary officers of the 2011 batch chosen for the Bihar cadre kept standing attentively listening to the DGP from 11.30pm to 1pm at a stretch.
Sharing the interaction, Ashish Bharti from Nalanda district said: “It was a healthy interaction with DGP sir who gave a lot of information and guidance. He also discussed how to tackle cases related to law and order.”
The six IPS officers would be in Patna for the next four weeks to take training on administrative issues.
IPS officer from Meerut Aditya Kumar said: “It is always good to seek guidance from seniors because they know things better than us.”
The DGP told The Telegraph: “They are young and new, it becomes important to guide them and they must understand the mechanism of public grievance redress.”
