A few days left for schools to close for winter holidays, students are making plans for the cool vacation ahead.
For some, the days away from school would mean holiday movies and festive gatherings, while for others, adventure.
Young Shashank Raj is counting days to December 22 - that's when St Michael's High School is closing for the winter holidays.
The Class II student said: 'I'm eagerly waiting for the winter break so that I can watch Aamir Khan's PK. I want to have a laidback time at home with my family, play games and chat with my friends. Also on my wishlist is a trip to the new McDonald's.'
Before closing for 10-12 days, Catholic institutions such as St Joseph's Convent High School are busy with practise for the Christmas and New Year celebrations. Between rehearsals, students are busy planning for the year-end.
One of them is Class XI student Zainab Ali. He said: 'Next year, we would prepare for the board exams and won't get time to chill. So, I have decided to visit Rajgir via Nalanda with my friends. We are looking forward to horse riding.'
If Zainab is planning a trip with friends, others are planning family outings.
Vinita Devi, a resident of Anisabad Colony, said: 'We have never been to Mussoorie and my childrenhave been pestering me to take them there so that they can watch snowfall. So, this Christmas we'll visit Mussoorie.'
Her daughter, Class II student Ruchi Kumari is excited. 'I always draw igloos, huts and snow. Now, I want to touch the snowflakes. This trip will be exciting.'
Around 200km from Mussoorie is Kasauli. Kunal Singh, a student of Gyan Niketan, will travel there for a holiday.
'Skating, rafting and mountain climbing will make this vacation memorable. I look forward to enjoying fresh fruits from the orchard, I like cherries.'
Suranjana, a student of Notre Dame Academy, will visit Mumbai and Goa and is looking forward to spend her vacation in style. 'I am thrilled about enjoying the various cuisines and explore the different places,' she said.
While families are travelling to the hills and beaches, few students are excited about returning home.
'I am excited about going back home. I will have twice as much fun because my elder brother is getting married,' Class VI student of Ishan International School Monica, who stays in the institution's hostel, said.
