Patna: RJD leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav on Wednesday quipped that chief minister Nitish Kumar had joined hands with the BJP to purify himself as the BJP is the soap that makes the body pure.
He was addressing a public meeting at Bihariganj High School in Madhepura, 280km east of Patna, on the fourth day of his ongoing Samvidhan Bachao Nyay Yatra.
"I'd heard that all sins get washed away if one takes a dip in the Ganga, but here is a BJP soap, which too can wash off all sins," Tejashwi said. "Whoever goes with the BJP becomes pious and pure. Whoever uses the BJP soap becomes pious. That's why Nitish ji has gone to the BJP. He is also involved in many scams but has become pious after taking bath with the BJP soap." Tejashwi was addressing a crowd of approximately 50,000.
Accompanying him were former minister Abdul Ghafoor, former minister Ashok Singh, Madhepura MLA Chandrashekhar and many other RJD leaders and MLAs.
Tejashwi said Nitish hated him because his performance was not as good as BJP president Amit Shah's son "whose firm's turnover rose 16,000 times in a year. I'm sorry I couldn't perform like Jay Shah," Tejashwi mocked.
He said the person who got the votes (read Lalu Prasad) is behind bars and the one voted out (read Sushil Kumar Modi) is part of the government. He accused Nitish of allying with the BJP, fearing release of a file or CD in the BJP's possession. "It's up to Nitish to say that he went to the BJP fearing release of a secret file or out of greed," Tejashwi said. Once the file becomes public, Nitish's politics will be over, he said.
Tejashwi also slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the PNB scam. "Modi ji had pledged to clean the Ganga, but he has managed to clean India's banks. All Modis are fleeing the country and I think even Sushil Kumar Modi will flee abroad."
