Talks on archaeology

A seminar on the archaeology and history of Patliputra was organised by the state archaeological directorate in association with Patna University on the premises of Patna Museum on Thursday.

Vivek Kumar Singh, principal secretary of state art, culture and youth affairs department, said the department recently submitted proposals with the central advisory board of archaeology of the Archeological Survey of India (ASI) to carry out excavations at Nawada, Munger and Bhagalpur.

"Considering the need for spreading awareness about the rich history of the state, including the ancient city of Pataliputra, we have decided to organise similar seminars at 10 different places in the state," said Vivek.

Lecture on N-bomb

Shree Krishna Science Centre organised a lecture and presentation on "Urja ek khoj" to observe Hiroshima and Nagasaki day on Thursday.

Rajmani Prasad Sinha, former chairman of Bihar School Examination Board, Patna, was the key speaker. Around 150 school students from Litera Valley School, Gyan Niketan, Kendriya Vidyalaya and Bihar Bal Kilkari Bhawan attended the function. While addressing the students, Sinha said: "On this month, 70 years ago, atom bombs were used against Japan. Power and economic strength should come with responsibility and promotion of world peace. Therefore, it is our responsibility to groom future generations to act as messengers against war and nuclear weapons, and spread the word about tragic experiences 70 years ago. Around 3,40,000 people died between 1945 and 1950 because of the effects of radiation and radioactivity."

Biochemic treatment

An expert on Thursday said bio-chemic medical treatment is cost-effective and cures all diseases successfully.

Shyamal Dutta, the chief executive officer of Bio-chemic Education Grant Commission, West Bengal, voiced his support while addressing a news meet here on "Awareness of activities of bio-chemic education grant commission".

Bio-chemic Education Grant Commission is a Government of India enterprise, and controls bio-chemic universities and bio-chemic councils all over India.
