Chhapra, April 29: Students of Lokmanya high school today went on a rampage on the campus, burning benches, chairs and tables, in protest against the delay in payment of money meant for purchase of cycles and excursion trip.

Fearing more violence, the teachers fled the school campus. The school principal was not present on the premises at the time of the protest.Students, mostly from Class IX and X, alleged that they had not been given money for bicycles for the past three months. Money for excursion was also not spent on them, they alleged. They said during night, criminal elements carry out illicit work on campus.
