Vehicle owners are likely to face a tough time in the days to come, as associations of petroleum dealers across India have threatened to go on an indefinite strike from April 23, if their demands are not met with.
On the lines of the strike call given by the Federation of All India Petroleum Traders (FAIPT), the Bihar Petroleum Dealers Association on Friday announced that over 1,800 fuel outlets across Bihar would remain closed from April 23.
“The petroleum ministry has not implemented the recommendations of its own committee for over a year now, which has envisaged various measures based on the proposals of our apex body (FAIPT). Such an indifferent attitude of the government has forced us to go on the strike,” said Prabhat Kumar Sinha, the president of Bihar Petroleum Dealers’ Association.
