Patna, June 2: Union home secretary Raj Kumar Singh today emphasised on the need to strengthen the intelligence network along the India-Nepal border in the wake of heightened terror activities in bordering areas of the state.
Singh, who arrived at Jay Nagar in Madhubani district by a special helicopter from Shillong en route to Delhi, attributed the arrest of terrorists to intelligence inputs. “Those who try to sneak into Indian territory from outside are caught and put behind bars,” he said. He added that border outposts have been set up at every 3-4km to keep close surveillance on subversive elements. “Efforts are on to strengthen the border outposts and provide necessary infrastructure for better policing on the international border,” he added.
Over a dozen persons hailing from Madhubani and Darbhanga districts have been picked up by intelligence officers and police personnel of other states for their alleged links with Indian Mujahideen, a terror outfit involved in carrying out bomb blasts in different parts of the country.
