Patna, Feb. 6: Governor Devanand Konwar today called for more attention towards the development of Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) while addressing a national seminar on SC & ST sub-plan at the AN Sinha Institute for Social Sciences.

“We should first see the ground reality when we are talking about the development of SCs and STs. The Planning Commission is allocating huge sums in the name of their development but how much of the fund is being spent is a question that officials and the elected representatives should ask themselves,” said Konwar.

Dignitaries present at the seminar included D.M. Diwakar, director, AN Sinha Institute for Social Sciences, Sanjay Paswan, former Union minister, Paul Diwakar human rights activist and Harkishor Singh, vice-chairman, Bihar Planning Board Commission.
