Family members of a senior scientist at Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) in Mumbai are now tired of running from one office to another to get their ancestral house vacated from unauthorised occupants in Rohtas district.
One Prabhu Nath Sharma, the younger brother of a senior nuclear scientist at BARC Jyoti Nath Sharma, has knocked every door in the past week to get justice for the family. Prabhu Nath with his relatives is camping at Dehri-on-Sone, around 170km south of Patna, in the hope that justice would be delivered.
Prabhu Nath, (45), a businessman in Mumbai, is so traumatised that he had requested his elder brother Jyoti to intervene into the matter. "I contacted him (Jyoti Nath) and narrated the whole story. He has assured me to do something to restore the family's ancestral property," he told The Telegraph over phone on Sunday.
Prabhu Nath's agony started on April 11 when he landed at Dehri-on-Sone from Durgapur in Bengal (where the Sharmas are settled) and went to his house at Babuganj. He opened the door of a room and dumped his luggage. Thereafter, he went to the local market for some work.
When Prabhu Nath returned after having breakfast and tea, he was shocked to find another lock hanging at the door. Inquired, he was told by neighbours that one Gautam Sharma and his associates have locked the door. When went to inquire from Gautam, he along with his uncle Bhim Sharma was brutally assaulted.
"As my uncle Bhim had received serious injuries, I took him to the hospital and called police. I was shocked to see that Gautam locked the door of the house again in presence of the police and took away all the belongings. The police remained a silent spectator to the scene. I submitted a written complaint to Dehri police station, which lodged an FIR after two days," he said.
It came as a double shocker for Prabhu Nath, a businessman of Mumbai, when he saw the accused Gautam and his relatives sitting in the office of the station house officer despite the fact they have been booked under non-bailable sections of the Indian Penal Code.
Dehri police station house officer Ranjit Kumar Singh said they were probing the allegations levelled against the accused. A case under sections 147, 341, 323, 379, 504 and 506 of the IPC has been lodged, he revealed. Rohtas SP Shivdeep Lande is on leave at present. "After much persuasion, I have an appointment with DIG (Shahbad range) Mohhammed Rahman on Monday," Prabhu Nath said.
The accused Gautam, termed the allegations against him as baseless.
