Patna/Purnea, March 31: The words of Rupam Pathak in the courtroom of the chief judicial magistrate today left everybody shocked.

Rupam, the prime accused in the murder case of former BJP MLA Rajkishore Keshari, said: “Yadi aaplog mujhe nanga dekhna chahte hai to baithiye (If you want to see me naked, sit in the court room).”

Rupam was produced in court for her statement regarding the sexual abuse case. She was shocked to find such a large number of people who had turned up at the premises.

The courtroom was left in a state of shock after and soon it was vacated.

Rupam’s counsel Dinesh Kumar said after her utterances, all those present in the courtroom disappeared from the scene. “The courtroom should have been vacated as per the ruling of the Apex Court, under section 376 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC),” he said.

CJM Daya Lal Prasad later recorded Rupam’s statement in the presence of her counsel Kumar, her local lawyer Purnendu Pathak and a lady sub-inspector of police of Purnea, Madhuri Kumari.

Rupam broke down before the court recounting the episode of her sexual abuse. “Empathised with her heart-rending stories and tears, the CJM had to intervene and console her between the proceedings,” Kumar told The Telegraph over phone.

Rupam told the court, she fractured three fingers while resisting her first rape on April 18, 2007. she said she had gone to the MLA’s house to show her the pictures of the programme at her school in which Keshari was the chief guest.”

She said, Bipin Rai an associate of Keshari, was sitting in the corridor of the house.

Later, Rai molested her several times and threatened to inform everybody about the incident. She did not tell anybody about the matter apart from her in-laws.

Rupam also said she was beaten up by Rai on October 31, 2009, before being raped.

She would be transferred to Beur Central Jail in Patna in the next couple of days.
