Samastipur, Nov. 15: Around 315 self-help groups were provided credit worth Rs 60 crore at Vikas Mela today, organised on the occasion of the 39th district foundation day.

Samastipur deputy development commissioner Dipak Anand told The Telegraph: “There are 381 panchayats in the district and we have given credit to 315 self-help groups across the district. Such a mega credit to these groups will definitely boost the village economy.”

He added that these groups were involved in animal rearing, small-scale spice industry and cultivating cash crop.
