Chhapra, Jan. 18: The syndicate of Jai Prakash University today passed a deficit budget of more than Rs 309 crore for financial year 2011-2012.

The amount can increase after a proposal to pay Grade III and Grade IV employees and the inclusion of 50 employees who have been recently appointed at DAV College, Siwan and JP Mahila College. The proposal would be placed for approval in the syndicate meeting on January 24. The total budget passed amounts to over Rs 325 crore.

Today’s meeting was chaired by vice-chancellor R.P. Sharma. MLC and syndicate member Mahachandra Prasad said a decision has been taken to finalise the matter of a time-bound promotion of teachers within two days.
