Patna: RJD chief Lalu Prasad on Monday announced that his party will hold another mega rally at Gandhi Maidan, titled Nitish Hatao BJP Bhagao (Oust Nitish & BJP), before the 2019 Lok Sabha election.
"Farmers are committing suicide," Lalu said after his party's state council meeting held at the party office. "I must say that before parliamentary election, I will hold another mega rally in Gandhi Maidan by the name of Nitish Hatao BJP Bhagao."
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has not fulfilled any of his promises in three-and-a-half years of holding office, the RJD chief alleged. "Be it bringing back black money stashed in foreign banks, giving Rs 15 lakh in the account of every Indian, minimum support price to farmers or cleaning the Ganga, the PM has been failed on all the fronts," Lalu said.
He said the country is going through a dangerous situation due to dual attack from the Narendra Modi government - demonetisation and GST (goods and services tax).
He also trained his gun on the chief minister.
" Palturam (turncoat, Lalu's moniker for Nitish) is finished after he sold his ideology to the RSS and BJP. Everyone is writing about Nitish that his image has gone down; even journalists are writing about his downfall. The BJP has climbed on his back and he cannot even move an inch. He also knows that there is no place for him in my party as well." Lalu said.
Nitish and the BJP have "sinned" by filling cases against him and his family members but nothing will happen to him or his family, the RJD chief declared.
Former deputy chief minister and Lalu's younger son Tejashwi Prasad Yadav echoed his father and said the prime Minister has cheated the youth of the country and Nitish has backstabbed the people by cheating the popular mandate.
Tejashwi said that his father has done a lot of work for the suppressed classes that Nitish cannot match in seven lifetimes. "In the tenure of Nitish there are so many scams and now he has been called scamster. Nitish has now become toilet thief," Tejashwi alleged, obviously referring to the irregularities that have come to light in funds meant for toilet construction.
Dripping with sarcasm, he added that Nitish is so pure that if he touches the Ganga, even Ganga maiya (mother) will become pious.
