Patna, Feb. 11: The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has decided to complain to Bihar Governor Devanand Konwar against the Nitish Kumar-led state government.

The RJD would put forward the complaints before the Assembly session begins on February 22.The complaints would be against alleged false promises made by Bihar Chief minister Nitish Kumar to the people of Bihar.

The party has taken the decision after closely watching the steps of ruling party, said RJD state Unit President Ramchandra Purbey.

Speaking on the occasion, Purbey said: “The Nitish Kumar government had made many promises including giving land to the Dalits and Mahadalits but not a single land has been allotted to them till now. They are being treated as animals in the state. Despite repeated complaints from our party, the government is not listening, so we have decided to file complaints to Bihar Governor and we have already made the file consisting of all details of programmes and promises made by the Nitish Kumar government.”

He further added: “Dalits and Mahadalits living in Vikram block are facing great difficulties as they don’t have proper toilets. Whenever they go to some other place they are threatened by the upper caste people. Nitish Kumar talks about development but there are many villages in Bihar which do not have toilets and the poor women are forced to go out at night to answer nature’s call. No work is being properly done on the ground level. Development does not only mean the city. What about the villages? Most of the population still survive in rural areas. It is a serious issue and needs to be taken up urgently.”

Purbey slammed Nitish Kumar over the law and order situation and said the common men are not safe in state.

“The safest place in this country is jail I guess, but there also the prisoners are not safe. An undertrial Babloo Mishra was thrashed to death inside Nawada jail. Such kind of an incident is shocking and sends a wrong message to the people of Bihar. If a man can be killed in jail then where do you expect him to be alive? Another case came into limelight when a dalit girl was raped by a local BJP leader in Vikram Block and police were not even registering their complaints.”

RJD leader Ram Bachan Rai was also present on the occasion and said: “We are in the Opposition which gives us the responsibility of exposing the ruling party. There are many such cases which are being closely being watched by our representatives all over the state and we will not allow the Nitish Kumar government to rule the state under anarchy.”
