Motihari, July 25: Three suspected Naxalites were arrested in a raid at Pipra village under Darpa police station in East Champaran district after a tip-off in the small hours on Wednesday.

Police along with Central Reserve Police Force had cordoned the village early in the morning. As soon as the operation started, the rebels started firing, said additional superintendent of police (operations) Sanjay Kumar Singh.

The police fired 11 rounds in retaliation. The arrested persons were identified as Sheo Pujan Rai, Ram Kishore Ram and Munchun Sah.
