Patna, Oct. 6: The prince was here. For the first time actor Vivek Oberoi stepped in Bihar and fell in love with litti chokha.

The actor was in the city today for a promotional event of his upcoming film Rakta Charitra organised in Mona theatre.

Oberoi said: “It is a great feeling to be here in Bihar. Though I am coming here for the first time, the warm greetings of the people of Bihar has made it very exciting and I am sure my film will run to full houses in the state. The best thing about Bihar is litti chokha, Shatrughan Sinha told me about this dish before coming to the city. I liked smashed potato with brinjal very much.”

Ram Gopal Varma along with Sinha and Oberoi attended the preview of the movie at Mona Theatre today.

On the occasion Varma said: “Rakta Charitra depicts the story of Indian politics and it will definitely connect with the audience.”

On asking the reason behind using too much violence in the film, Varma said: “This film is not about violence. To show the implication of criminalisation in politics we shot such scenes to relate with reality.”

Rakta Charitra is a biopic on Telugu Desam Party leader Paritala Ravi. Oberoi plays the lead in the film.

Sinha said: “After 25 years of working as an actor, I will be seen without my moustache in the film for the first time. I have tried to give my best to the political drama in this film.”

The Bollywood veteran, nicknamed Shotgun, is essaying the role resembling former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N.T. Rama Rao in the film, which also stars south Indian actor Suriya of Ghajini fame.

Sinha spoke extensively on his moustache and said: “In my long career spanning so many years, I never compromised on my moustache but when I saw the script and the broader perspective of the film, I liked it so much that I had to agree for a clean look to play NTR.”

According to Oberoi, it is double bonanza for him this month. Firstly, the film will release in October and secondly, he will tie the knot this month.

When asked about the wedding day guest list, specifically if actor Salman Khan would attend the wedding, Oberoi said: “Please forgive me and don’t ask this question. I beg with my folded hands.”

When asked about Salman Khan’s moustache in Dabangg Sinha said: “Salman’s moustache is like dabangg (fearless) and Vivek’s one is temporary. He will remove it once he gets married (laughs).”

Talking about the film Sinha added: “The film has a lot of emotion and it has bold characters. Varma has done justice in treating the characters in the film.”

Sinha, however, denied to speak anything when asked to compare Rakta Charitra characters with any real-life politician in Bihar.

He said: “The model code of conduct has been implemented, I do not want to say anything about this.”

The film will release on October 22, when the actor-turned-politician will be busy campaigning for his party during the Bihar Assembly elections, starting October 21. Rakta Charitra has been made in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
