Patna: JDU leader and former minister Shyam Rajak will be sharing the dais with B.R. Ambedkar's grandson Prakash Ambedkar in Patna on February 22 and with Arvind Kejriwal on February 23 in New Delhi. Both leaders are known to share anti-BJP views.

Bharipa Bahujan Mahasangh leader and Dalit activist Ambedkar will be felicitated at the Patna Gait Public Library in Gardanibagh for his proactive role in the Bhima Koregaon incident in Mahrashtra. The function is being organised by Sanjay Valmiki, state chief of the RJD's medical cell.

Next day, Rajak will be in New Delhi's Uttam Nagar with Kejriwal to attend a programme to mark birth anniversary celebrations of Sant Gadge Baba, a social reformer from Maharashtra.

Kejriwal had called Prime Minister Narendra Modi a "shameless dictator", after the income tax department sought derecognition of his Aam Aadmi Party for allegedly filing "false and fabricated" audit reports on donations.

Nitish is running his government in alliance with the BJP in Bihar and a JDU leader sharing the dais with Kejriwal will surely raise questions. But then Rajak is disgruntled since 2015 after Nitish dropped him from his cabinet. Just last year Rajak had criticised the Centre for allegedly trying to do away with reservation for Dalits.

Asked about sharing the dais with anti-BJP leaders, Rajak said: "Both programmes are related to Dalit issues and I've been raising my voice for their rights ever since I joined politics. You should not see any politics in it."

More recently, Rajak criticised RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, saying he should apologise for exploiting Dalits for thousands of years.

After being dropped from Nitish's cabinet, Rajak tried hard to re-enter but failed. For some time, Rajak sided with former Speaker Uday Narayan Choudhary, who has become critical of Nitish, but that too did not help him. He later left Choudhary's side. Political expert say Rajak is now trying to establish himself as Dalit leader.
