Rain played spoilsport on Valentine’s Day. Few dared to venture out. Piyush Kumar Tripathi of The Telegraph went around the popular hangout spots in the city and found most of them deserted.

The P&M Mall looked surprisingly deserted probably because of rain. “I came with my two friends in the morning and watched Hasee toh Phasee and ate at the food court. We would spend the rest of the day at one of my friend’s place and chat among ourselves,” said Sumedha Sharma, a student of chartered accountancy.

Park predicament

A few turned up at the Eco-Park because of rain. “My girlfriend and I had planned to hit the Eco-Park in the morning but we managed to arrive here by 2pm after the rain stopped for a while. It is still raining intermittently. There are very few couples here. Boating and water-ball facilities are not available today (Friday) because of rain,” said Vishal Singh, a student.

Joyless zoo

The usual fun was missing at the zoo. “I don’t remember Patna zoo looking so deserted on a Valentine’s Day. Obviously, the rain since morning played spoilsport. The worst thing is the toy train is not running,” said Sugandhi Kumari, a student.

Good treat

Of all the hot spots, Bollywood Treats witnessed better footfall. “Initially, we had planned to celebrate the wedding anniversary of a friend on his open terrace but that could not happen because of rain. Hence, we came here and had fun,” said Gurjeet Chawla, an employee of a private firm.

Better scene

Some revellers turned up at Regent Fun Cinemas out of compulsion. “I had decided to go out with my friends to Sabbalpur Diara to celebrate V-Day. But we had to change the plan because of the rain and we came here at Regent to watch Gunday,” said Monu Agarwal, a businessman
