Patna: The income-tax (IT) department on Thursday raided the premises of Rekha Modi, a cousin of deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi, in connection with the over Rs 1400 crore Srijan government fund transfer scam.

Rekha's premises in Patna were among the 11 places searched across Bihar.

Sushil Modi sought to distance himself from Rekha, saying he had not "met her in 10 years". Raids were also conducted in Bhagalpur, Katihar and Purnea.
