A property dealer, Mohammad Lalbabu, was shot dead by unidentified armed criminals on the national highway 28 near Musarigharari in Samastipur district on Sunday morning.

Agitated over the murder, the residents of Bishwambharpur village blocked the national highway and disrupted traffic for around three hours.

Samastipur superintendent of police Suresh Prasad Choudhary said the blockade was removed after the police promised to arrest the culprits at the earliest.

The police registered an FIR against unidentified persons on the statement of the deceased's relative.
