Darbhanga, Oct. 16: The appointment of nine teachers by the acting principal of Mata Sahay Chaudhary Government Middle School without the permission of the administration has exposed the chaotic state of education in the district.
Sources said Ram Yatan Safi, the principal, appointed nine teachers without the necessary permission from the district administration. He has also been paying them from his own salary.
“When I took charge as the acting principal, I promised myself to reform the institution. I appointed nine teachers for the school. I pay them from my own salary. I get around Rs 31,500 every month, and distribute Rs 18,000 from it to the teachers I have appointed,” he said.
The district administration is not too happy with the private appointments, though.
District education officer Chandra Shekhar Kumar said: “There is no provision to appoint school teachers privately. Action will be taken against any person who violates the rules regarding the appointment of teachers.”
