Former IAS officer IC Kumar inaugurates Bachpan, a play school at Akashvani Road, Khajpura, in Patna on Sunday. Kumar focused on quality education for the children. He said earlier kids used to be beaten up to make them study but things have changed now. “Now, the schools believe in letting the children play and teach them while letting them have fun — a method of instruction called play and learn,” he said. The school director, Vinay Kumar Singh, said they have a technically advanced system of making the children learn different things to help them grow up as responsible citizens. “We have an audio-visual room, which would be having a 3D facility. There would be a touch-sensitive smart board to be used by the tiny tots. Kids can select any topic according to their choice, he said. He also focused on the importance of education for children. The children would be taught rhymes, touchboard and other games. The institute also has a small playground to ensure that the children keep fit and are healthy.
