Patna, Feb. 13: The way to a man’s heart, as we all know, is through his stomach. So if you want to give your boyfriend a treat this Valentine’s Day do not waste time in the kitchen labouring to toss up the perfect delicacy.

Take him out instead to a romantic candlelight dinner and savour the delicacies on offer at the different restaurants in the city.

Eateries too have planned elaborate menus to celebrate the day of love.

Pind Baluchi — the revolving restaurant atop Biscomaun Towers — has a number of delicacies on offer to tickle the taste buds of couples. Pink seems to be saturating the air, even when it comes to food and drinks.

A number of pink coloured mocktails have been added to the menu, such as Pink Love, Vallentino, Pink Lady and Hawaiian Surprise.

Amar Kumar, the general manager of the restaurant, said: “Pink Love is prepared from strawberry crush and ice cream. It is elaborately decorated. Hawaiian surprise has ice cream and grape juice.”

The party at Pind Baluchi start early at 1pm and goes on till 10pm, on the 16th floor. Deejays and a romantic ambience have been created to enhance the romantic experience. Of course, you need to have deep pockets to keep love from flying out of the window.

“The minimum bill amount should be Rs 500,” the manager added.

Youths, who have just, well, tasted love for the first time, are excited by the over-pink prospects of the day. They are hungry for more and to easily satiated.

For others, for whom the excitement of the chase has mellowed over the years and who like to display their affections, albeit in a little less pink manner, there is enough on offer

Hotel Maurya has decided to be different this year: they have not planned any special delicacy for their customers. Perhaps, they believe love can be celebrated everyday and there is nothing special about February 14.

But customers how come here to celebrate their day of love will not be disappointed, said the hotel management.

“We have a lovely Sea Food Chowder soup that is very popular. Chicken Gulabi soup is also much loved,” said Kunal Trivedi, the manager of the hotel.

Of course, there is the famous Love by Chocolate, a sinful dessert that you cannot miss on any day. “It’s a chocolate brownie, served on a sizzler plate with chocolate or vanilla ice cream,” said Trivedi.

Shakespeare said “Music is the food of love” and connoisseurs of music too will make a beeline for Maurya Hotel, because there will be a live ghazal show to accompany dinner, that will be served from 7pm to 11pm.

If you pocket does not permit an expensive date for your beloved, worry not love is priceless. Also, Mausam Manch in Mauryalok Complex will offer free brownies for lovebirds.

Sachin Rastogi, the owner of the eatery, said: “Brownies are for free on Valentine’s Day. Its our way to celebrate the day of love.”

“I am excited about the unabashed display of love on Valentine’s Day,” said Sumita, a 16-year-old, who will be going out with her boyfriend Varun for the first time on V-Day. She has prepared pink coloured handmade pies for him.

“I hope he has something sweet for me as well,” she said, her big brown eyes shining with anticipation. They have plans to have a candlelight dinner after going to a movie.

On being asked where they will go for their romantic date with food, she said: “It’s a secret.” Of course it is.
