Fight child marriage

Former director-general of police Abhayanand on Friday sought cooperation of all women police stations in the state to put a stop to child marriage. He was speaking at a workshop on "Marriage: No Child's Play" held by the Bihar Voluntary Health Association and Save the Children.
The state Unicef chief, Yameen Majumdar, said the government has been able to bring down instances of child marriage from 60 to 40 per cent in the last year.
Power skills
The Power Sector Skill Council, promoted by the Union power ministry, and Indian Electrical and Electronics Manufacturers' Association signed three memorandums of understanding with Bihar State Power Holding Corporation, Bihar Renewable Energy Development Agency and Bihar State Hydroelectric Power Corporation, respectively, to roll out skill development programmes.
This will help increase employment opportunities for youngsters in Bihar.
