St Karen's Secondary School hosted an inter-school spelling competition on Saturday.

Around 11 key city schools, including St Michael's High School, Delhi Public School, Mount Carmel High School, St Dominic Savio's High School, Gyan Niketan, Don Bosco Academya and International School (both ICSE and CBSE), took part in the event. English coordinator of St Xavier's College Sister Mudita was the chief guest.

The competition comprised various levels including jumbled words, synonyms, antonyms, figurative expressions, and word vocabulary. It had four rounds to analyse and assess the word power of the participants. Shushmita and Ruma Singh of Mt Carmel High School emerged winners while Adya and Siddhant of Delhi Public School and Mehul and Sarwar Ali Khan of St Karen's High School bagged the second and third prizes, respectively.

School fiesta

Don Bosco Academy organised an annual fete on its Digha campus.

Director A.G. deRozario inaugurated the fete. Twenty-four stalls offered games like juke box, wheel of fortune, nine pins, feeding the joker, bowling, lucky coupons and food counters.
