The Parivartan Rally at Gandhi Maidan on May 15 would be an assembly of gods for the RJD. Recently, someone asked RJD leader Illiyas Hussain if former chief minister Rabri Devi would address party supporters at the meeting. Hussain, a former minister, promised that the publicity-shy former chief minister would address the meeting. “Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvarti go together,” he said, referring to Lalu and Rabri Devi, respectively.he person further asked if Ganesh and Kartik, referring to Tej Pratap and Tejaswi, would also address the meeting. An RJD leader said: “The two sons, particularly Tejaswi, have been playing their role. Tejaswi has even gone out of the district (Patna) to drum up support. I do not see why Ganesh and Kartik should not chip in on May 15.” A central government official recalled how he got a road, leading to his house in Rajendra Nagar, made through his influence. “One evening, on my way back home from office, I found a huge crowd on the road. Looking closer, I found that the local BJP MLA, Arun Sinha, was cutting the ribbon,” said the official. The MLA made it sound as if he was the person responsible for the construction of the road, the official stressed. “But all politicians love to cut ribbons and see their names on foundation stones,” e said. “Arun Sinha nd his supporters just nvited themselves to naugurate the road,” e added. At least one official in the chief minister’s secretariat will benefit from chief minister Nitish Kumar’s prolonged Seva Yatra. The official wears shoes round the year but recently, the other employees in the chief minister’s secretariat were surprised to see him in slippers - for at least five days. “My shoes are in need of repair. I gave a cobbler near Digha the pair for repair. But the next day, after an anti-encroachment drive, he was missing from his usual spot. The CM never gives me time to search for the cobbler or buy new shoes.” Ever since the RJD lost power in Bihar, its office in Patna wears a shabby look. The furniture is broken. The old TV has broken down. However, the party recently got a new LCD TV and good-looking steel chairs in the office, lending it a “corporate look”. A party supporter from West Champaran district has donated the new items.
