Sasaram: A 23-year-old youth, identified as Sushil Panda, allegedly committed suicide after being tortured by police in Rohtas district on Friday. anda, the son of a priest of Delia village, was taken into custody for interrogation in connection with theft of idols from a temple on November 23.

Patna: Health minister Ashwini Kumar Choubey, while inaugurating the three-day national conference of Indian Association of Social Psychiatry, announced on Friday that every medical college and hospital in Bihar would have a special ward for the mentally challenged patients.

Accusation

Patna: CPI(ML) on Friday accused Bengal police and paramilitary forces of staging a fake encounter to eliminate Maoist leader Kishan. A press note released by the party claimed that Kishan was first arrested and then killed.

Recovery

Patna: Police on Friday raided a house in the Gola Road area under Pirbhore police station and recovered a large consignment of pirated CDs. Computers and other equipment used to manufacture the CDs were also recovered. One person has been detained for interrogation.

Siwan: Fast-track court V judge Buddhi Ram Prasad on Friday awarded 10 years’ rigorous imprisonment to five people accused of attempt to murder and fined them Rs 2,000 each.
