Patna: Seven people were arrested from the Masjid Gali area under Digha police station on Thursday for gambling after the cops received a tip-off. olice recovered six cellphones, Rs 10,758 and many receipts.

Mobile loot

Patna: Five men on Thursday morning ransacked a mobile phone shop in Shahganj area under Sultanganj police station of Patna City and fled with cellphones worth thousands.

Transfer

Patna: Saharsa district magistrate Devraj Deo was transferred on Thursday. He will report to the general administration department. Misbah Bari, additional secretary, excise department, will replace him.

Timing

Patna: Anganwadi kendras will be open from 12noon to 2pm till January 5, 2012, and would only serve hot meals because of the cold wave.

Red arrest

Patna: A Maoist, identified as Sheonandan Paswan alias Patel, involved in the 2005 Jehanabad jailbreak, was arrested from Hansraj village in Arwal district on Thursday.

Retirement

Patna: The state government on Thursday extended the retirement age of doctors from 62 to 65 years.

Operation

Gaya: Four Maoists, including a sub-zonal commander, were arrested during combing operation by district police and CRPF personnel on Wednesday.

Patna: Lions Club of Patna Femina on Wednesday organised the award ceremony of its 89th Indian Oil Femina Patna-Rajgir car rally.
