Two held with firearms

Patna: Government Railway Police (GRP) on Saturday arrested two men from the Patna railway station and recovered a pistol with two live cartridges from them. amir Mia and Sayed Mid are in their mid-20s. GRP inspector Shiraz Khan said both of them were involved in several incidents of crime at the railway station.

Theft

Patna: Two laptops, one mobile phone and a gold ring worth Rs 2 lakh were stolen from the flat of The Telegraph correspondent Smita Kumar during small hours on Saturday. An FIR has been lodged at S.K. Puri police station.

Patna: A blood donation camp was organised in co-operation with Kurji Holy Family Hospital at St Xavier’s College of Education on Saturday.

Patna: Atlantis Medicare would inaugurate its hospital at Asha Singh More in Gaya on Sunday. This would be the fourth hospital of the group.

Patna: Members of Rotary Club on Saturday distributed exercise books and water bottles among 70 underprivileged students in Sikshaytan School.

Firing

Patna: Bhojpur police opened fire in the air to disperse a mob that had indulged in stone pelting on a police team at Dulhaniganj village under Jagdishpur police station on Saturday. DGPNeel Mani said police fired after a few policem-en were injured in stone pelting by protesters.

Work monitor

Gopalganj: Water resource minister Vijendra Chaudhary, principal secretary Afzal Amanullah visited Semaria embankment in Gopalganj and took stock of the construction work on three spurs being constructed in Gandak to check flood fury.
