Patna: Rohtas police on Tuesday foiled an attempt to loot Rs 10 lakh from a wholesale cement dealer by arresting six members of an inter-state gang from Shankerpur bridge under Indrapuri police station of the district. cting on a tip-off, a personnel of the special police team constituted by Rohtas superintendent of police Manu Maharaj conducted a raid at Shankerpur overbridge and apprehended six criminals who were planning to rob a cement trader. Those arrested have been identified as Ravi Kumar Rawant, Sikander Rain, Sohan Kumar Choudhary, Ashif Ansari, Love Kumar Singh and Vijay Kumar Ram. However, their accomplice Raju Choubey managed to escape.Patna: More than a 100 students of master in finance control (MFC) of Patna University took to streets protesting against the varsity’s decision to declare MFC as zero session for 2011-13, on Tuesday. Patna: A bench of Justice Dharnidhar Jha of Patna High Court on Tuesday stayed the special vigilance court order to confiscate the disproportionate assets worth Rs 1.44 crore of suspended IAS officer and former minor irrigation secretary SS Verma. The court, while admitting Verma’s criminal appeal, also directed the authorities to place all the records of the case before it. Patna: Patna High Court on Tuesday directed the state government and Patna Municipal Corporation to file their counter affidavit within four weeks on a PIL seeking quashing of issuance of public tender inviting persons desirous of taking settlement for realisation of toll, fee, money from street vendors. Patna: Atleast 12 armed men entered the Tirupati Steel Factory, located under the Agamkuan police station on Monday and robbed more than Rs 30,000 from the employees. The incident took place at 9.30pm, the police said. The men barged into the factory with arms and shoved 19 men working in the factory into a room after beating them up. he man then took away the mobile phones and cash they had and also damaged the CCTV cameras installed in the premises.
