Father poisons children

Purnea: Three children were poisoned to death by their father at Charaiya village under Baisi police station on Wednesday. fter poisoning his children, he hanged himself to death. The man has been identified as Gulab Chandra Sharma and his three children as Suraj (14), Prem (9) and Priyanka (6).

Flight delay

Patna: Two Delhi-bound flights had delayed arrivals at Patna airport by nearly 3 hours on Wednesday owing to bad weather. GoAir’s G8- 344 was delayed by over three hours from its scheduled arrival at 5.10pm and Jet Airway’s S2-290 was reported to arrive at Patna airport at 9.30pm against its scheduled time at 6.50pm.

Protest

Patna: Bihar Jharkhand Rajya Vidyut Parishad Field Kamgar Union general secretary Amrendra Mishra on Wednesday said the union would observe a black day on July 5 to protest the Bihar State Electricity Board’s decision against privatisation of distribution system of Patna, Gaya, Muzaffarpur and Bhagalpur.

Directive

Patna: A bench of Justice Mridula Mishra of high court on Wednesday directed the human resource development department to appear before it on July 13 to explain why a teacher of Veer Kuer Singh University, Ara, was not getting his retiral dues.

Capsize

Patna: Shiv Kumari Devi, a resident of Pakribari village under Dhaka block in East Champaran was feared drowned in river Lalbakia in Sitamarhi when a boat ferrying 25 people capsized near Phulwaria Ghat on Wednesday.

Cell shift

Patna: Jail inspector- general Anand Kishore inspected Beur jail on Wednesday along with the city superintendent of police Shivdeep Lande. “Directions have been given to jail superintendent O.P. Gupta to make arrangements to shift those convicts who have occupied a particular cell since years now,” said Lande.
