Fire at NGO office

Patna: A fire broke out on the second floor of the Red Cross Building, on Thursday night. It houses the office of Kilkari, a non-government organisation engaged in educating underprivileged children. s many as eight fire tenders were required to bring the flames under control. The police have written a letter to the Bihar State Electricity Board, requesting them to state whether the fire was accidental or intentionally caused.

Arrests

Chhapra: Two people were arrested and 35kg of bhang worth Rs 2 lakh recovered from them on Thursday night. Kopa police station in-charge Gautam Kumar said during a vehicle check, Rohit Sah and Dinesh Rai were arrested.

Road death

Chhapra: One Pawan Kumar (13) was run overby a motorcycle on Thursday night near Bhaismara Mor under Garkha police station.

Shot

Sasaram: One person was killed and another injured by criminals at Barao village under Nokha police station in Rohtas district on Thursday night.

Accident

Gopalganj: Four members of a family died in an accident on NH-28 near Bhatwa Mor on Thursday evening. The deceased were identified as Shamima Khatun, Shamna Khatun, Muslim and a nine-month-old baby.

Five held

Patna: Jamui police have arrested five persons for their alleged involvement in transaction of money from India to neighbouring countries, including Pakistan and Nepal, through fraudulent means. Cellphones, ATM cards and documents related to money transactions have been seized from them.

Murders

Chhapra: Two persons were murdered under Sonpur police station on Thursday. One Akhilesh Rai was shot dead at Bariya Ghat. In the other incident, an employee of Vijay Construction, Ishwar Mahto was strangled to death in his room.
