HC asks for test reply

Patna: A high court bench of Justice Mihir Kumar Jha on Tuesday directed Bihar Public Service Commission to file its reply on a bunch of petitions filed by Sunil Kumar and others challenging the commission’s decision for using the moderation methodology for bringing uniformity in marks obtained by candidates in the 53rd to 55th exams held in 2011. he court directed the commission to make its stand clear by June 20, when the matter would be taken up for hearing. The petitioner’s counsel, Dinu Kumar, submitted that the commission cannot use moderation method without amending the existing rules.

Rail security

Patna: Danapur divisional railway manager L.M. Jha on Tuesday said proper security arrangements have been made at three railway stations — Patna, Rajendra Nagar and Danpur — for residents of the capital on the day of the Parivartan Rally on Wednesday.

PU law exam

Patna: Patna University has postponed the LLB fifth semester examination, which was scheduled on Wednesday. The examination has been postponed owing to RJD’s Parivartan Rally. Fresh dates for the exam will be announced later.

College panel

Patna: A 13-member committee headed by principal RBP Singh has been constituted at Patna College to oversee preparations being made in wake of the proposed visit of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (Naac) team visit.

Loan camp

Patna: Punjab National Bank on Tuesday organised a camp in which loans worth Rs 75 lakh were settled and Rs 7.9 lakh collected. Senior bank officials, including circle head A.K. Dargan, were present.
