No to alcohol

The minister said his department was taking every step to discourage the masses from alcohol use. o observe the day, Disha De-addiction-cum-rehabilitation centre also organised an awareness programme and a cleanliness drive on the Buddha Colony main road.

Graveyard FIR

Patna: Five bodies have allegedly been dug out from a graveyard in Purnea district and an FIR has been lodged with Kasba police station in the matter, said Purnea superintendent of police Ajit Kumar Satyarthi.

Patna: A ward councillor from Phulwarisharif, Reeta Sharma, has written to chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi demanding the government to take action against people involved in the kerosene black market.

Attack on cops

B>n Patna, Nov. 26: A team of Jakkanpur police station was attacked by a group of people today when the personnel went to vacate illegal cowsheds in the area. The cops were pelted with stones. Some of the officers, including Jakkanpur police station house officer, were injured. Nobody has been arrested yet.

Criminal held

B>n Patna: A criminal, Ashok Yadav, was arrested from Naugachhia in Bhagalpur district today. Bhagalpur additional superintendent of police Ramashankar Rai said seven country-made weapons, including two rifles, and ammunition were seized from Yadav.

B>n Begusarai: A middle-aged woman was raped by a youth at Sahebpur Kamal in Begusarai district on Tuesday. The victim lodged a complaint on Wednesday and was examined at the sadar hospital.
