Patna, May 9: A 50-year-old man was brutally murdered late last night, allegedly by five persons including his employer, for demanding money they owed him.

Scrap dealer Babloo called Lakshman Sah, who used to work for him, to the shop around Friday midnight, promising to return his money.

There were four other people at the shop and they all sat down to drink.

An altercation ensued when Sah asked for his money. The five others pinned him down and beat him up badly till he fell unconscious. They then smashed his face and hit him with bottles and bricks, killing him instantly.

The incident took place at Brahmasthali Gali under the jurisdiction of Shastri Nagar police station.

"Three persons involved in the incident, identified as Naveen, Noor Alam and Sher Khan, have been nabbed. Interrogation is on. The prime accused, Babloo, and another person are absconding and a search is on for them. The police recovered Sah's body outside the shop in the early hours. Sah's family stays in the same locality," said an officer at Shastri Nagar police station.

Sah had worked at the shop for over a year.

"He trusted Babloo and would deposit a part of his pay with him, saving for his younger daughter's marriage. The marriage was finalised recently and Sah wanted the money back. But the latter wasn't returning the money to Sah on one pretext or the other. This had led to arguments earlier too," said another police officer.

Aarti Kumari, Sah's elder daughter, lodged a named FIR against the five people.

A family member said they received a call late on Friday night after Sah left home. The caller said Sah had been killed and tipped off the family about the location of the body after which they rushed to the spot and alerted the police.

"Seems that Babloo had a well chalked-out plan. Sah's face was almost unrecognisable after being smashed with bricks and bottles. The police have recovered the bricks and the bottles from the shop. A hunt for the remaining accused is on. The body has been sent for post-mortem," the officer further said.
