Patna, June 19: Sushil Kumar Modi has turned vitriolic against his former boss Nitish Kumar.

During a news meet, the former deputy chief minister said that “days are not far when Nitish will sings paeans to Rahul Gandhi”.

Hinting at a new political alignment after the Nitish government comfortably won the vote of confidence today, Modi said: “The support of four Congress MLAs to the state government is an indication that the JD(U) is going to have an alliance with the Congress in the near future.”

Terming Nitish “a master of the numbers game”, Modi said: “We had a hunch that Nitish was planning to have a tie-up with the Congress after he accompanied Union finance minister P. Chidambaram during the latter’s visit to the state Congress headquarters on May 11.”

Nitish and his party would have to pay the price for having an alliance with the Congress as there is “an anti-Congress wave in the entire nation”, warned Modi.

The veteran BJP leader added that the BJP had never said it wanted to adopt the Gujarat development model in the state as “different states have different development models”.
