Patna: District magistrate Sanjay Kumar Agarwal on Saturday launched an updated version of a mobile application, called Chhath Puja Patna, for the convenience of devotees.
By installing the application, devotees can get all information related to arrangements made by district administration at every ghat. "One can check the GPS location of ghats through this application," Agarwal said. "Other details like contact number of the ghat in-charge would also be available. It would also have details of the magistrate, medical team and other department officials present at the ghats. For the first time, the application has GPS navigation facility by which the devotees can choose the nearest ghat."
Through the application one can also get an audio message regarding precaution to be taken while visiting a particular ghat. It would also have information related to parking facility and its distance from the riverbank. "It would have latest information and would be regularly updated if any new facility is added," Agarwal said. "The most important thing is it would have the cellphone numbers of all important persons deputed at the ghats and a map of the ghat too. The application, Chhath Puja Patna, can be downloaded from Google Play Store."
On downloading the application, one can even get information regarding the history and importance of Chhath festivals, apart from many video songs based on the festival.
Last year lakhs of people downloaded the application and it came to good use.
"More than the people living in Patna, it would be useful for those who come from other states and abroad," the district magistrate said. "They can get the maximum benefit from this application. It also has a facility to register feedback."
