Patna, July 22: A few have the first-day-first-show experience in a multiplex. Two “non-resident” Patnaites were fortunate to feel that with bonus.

Friends Aashu Mishra and Sneha Dubey became the first two to buy tickets at Cinepolis, the newest star on the block, yesterday. Today, they were the first to enter the multiplex at 8.30am.

Although the duo failed to get advance tickets for the Ajay Devgn-starrer Singham and got 10am tickets for the bachelor road trip of the season, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, the real star for them today was Cinepolis.

Aashu, who works in Delhi, said: “This is a proud moment for every Patna resident. I stay in Delhi, which has several multiplexes. Whenever I used to visit Patna I used to miss the multiplex experience. But not anymore. We are lucky to have our own multiplex now and it is a different feeling. It makes you feel that you are in a metropolitan city. Earlier, my parents never even allowed me to go to Mona to watch a movie. But this time, they encouraged me to buy a ticket at Cinepolis.”

Sneha, who studies engineering in a Bangalore institute, said: “The credit for bringing Cinepolis to Patna goes to Prakash Jha. Earlier, there were hardly any good cinema in Patna and we had to rush to book tickets one to two hours in advance. Now, no matter when we reach, there will at least be one film to watch.”

The multiplex, which was formally launched yesterday, left smiles on every face — children, youngsters, and family members — today. Assistance from the employees, who communicated with walkie-talkie from the ground floor of P&M Mall to the multiplex on the fifth floor, security arrangements, plush seats, Dolby digital sound… what was not to love!

Lalit Karn, a final year student of Zakir Hussain Institute, who caught the 9.30am-Singham show, said: “I liked the film a lot but for the first 15 minutes, I was just looking around. This was my first visit to a multiplex and it was a nice experience. The Dolby digital sound and comfortable chairs made for a good treat. From now, I have decided to see movies only at the multiplex, as the price of tickets is same as that at Mona. Why should I then go anywhere else?”

Apart from Singham, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, the other three films — Murder 2, Transformers 3 and Delhi Belly are also being screened.
