Bettiah, Sept. 28: The sitting Narkatiaganj BJP MLA, Rashmi Verma, who has been deprived of a party ticket for the Assembly polls, received an anonymous letter, which threatened her of dire consequence in case she dared to contest election as an independent.

"You are a sane and sensible person hence you are never expected to commit any mistake at the cost of safety and security of your family members," the letter said, which was recovered lying abandoned on her campus today morning. Rashmi informed the police about the letter and investigations were on to trace its origin.
