Patna, Nov. 25: Bihar Electricity Regulatory Commission is set to write to Bihar State Electricity Board to ask it to strengthen infrastructure to provide 24-hour power supply in the capital, for which it has decided to charge 10 per cent as premium tariff.
The commission said the board would attract penalty under the provisions of Electricity Act, 2003, if it fails to provide uninterrupted power supply to the notified areas.
The commission’s chairman, U.N. Panjiar, said the board needs to strengthen infrastructure such as transmission and distribution network, replacement of conductors, maintaining adequate employee strength to deal with an emergency, replacing old and overloaded transformers and attending fuse-off calls.
