The advance bookings for Krrish 3, the sequel to Koi... Mil Gaya and Krrish, is on in full swing ahead of its release on Friday.

The film starring Hrithik Roshan, Priyanka Chopra, Vivek Oberoi and Kangna Ranaut has got 34 shows across the city.

The number of shows, which is equal to Ranbir Kapoor’s last film Besharam, is more than Shah Rukh Khan’s Chennai Express that opened with 31 shows.

Being a Diwali release, the theatre owners are hoping to make good business from the scientific fiction directed and produced by Rakesh Roshan.

Suman Kumar Sinha, the owner of Regent, said: “Hrithik is the Indian superhero with the likes of Spiderman, Batman and Iron Man. Rakesh Roshan has given the Indian audience its own superhero. Like its prequels, Krrish 3 is sure to create a record at the box office.”

Sinha is happy with the response of the advance bookings, which started on Saturday evening. “The afternoon and evening shows of the film from Friday to Saturday are houseful. By November 1, tickets are likely to be unavailable.”

Youths are showing a lot of interest in the film because of its special effects and action sequences.

“I really liked the trailer of the film. The technology used in the action scenes is mostly found in Hollywood,” said Ritesh Kumar, who came to book an advance ticket at Regent on Tuesday.

Cinepolis, which will screen 20 shows of the film, is planning to depute staff wearing Krrish masks.

“The idea is still under consideration and we might go ahead with it like we did during Chennai Express when our staff wore lungi as a promotional gesture. It gives a different look and the audience gets attracted,” said Abhishek Ranjan, the manager of Cinepolis.

At Cinepolis, too, the seats are fast filling up.

Despite being an expensive movie made at Rs 100 crore approximately, the prices of the tickets have not been changed.

Mona with five shows and Elphinstone with four shows are also receiving good response at the booking counters.

“I have been waiting for this film for long. I am more interested to watch Vivek in the film. His look in the film is very impressive. I am sure the movie will be entertaining and worth watching,” said Anurag Singh, a student of Patna Science College, who came for a ticket at Elphinstone.
