Patna, Dec. 22: The weekly janata darbar of district magistrate (DM) Sanjay Kumar Singh turned into a king’s court, of King Khan to be precise!

Singh today received over a hundred calls requesting him to arrange a meeting with the superstar. The DM’s cellphone kept on ringing during the course of the darbar, annoying him. Singh was almost tired of replying to their queries.

“I have no idea about Shah Rukh’s itinerary. I cannot arrange a meeting with him. I am extremely sorry to tell you that. It’s not up me to decide who will meet Shah Rukh. I cannot help you out in this matter,” said the DM over the phone to someone.

Though Singh did not reveal the name of the caller, he said both boys and girls called him.

“Not only during the darbar, I have been receiving calls from last night itself. I have received hundreds of calls from SRK fans. I cannot arrange a meeting with the star, it’s not my duty to do so,” said Singh.

When asked as to how the callers got his number, Singh said: “It’s very easy to get the number of a district magistrate. One can get it either from the Bihar government diaries or from people associated with the administration.”

The endless calls, notwithstanding, the proceedings of the darbar were not disrupted as Singh gave adequate attention to all complainants who had turned up with their grievances.

Singh was not even rude in spite of the relentless calls. “Most of the callers were young and they just wanted to meet Shah Rukh. It was not possible for me to give them any assurance or promise in the matter. I told them that I am not the right person to call in this regard,” said Singh.

Sources said usually the DM gets calls from his employees and senior officers but this was the first time that he received calls from unknown people.

“Not only from the capital, I received several calls from the other districts as well,” added Singh.
