Patna: A nursing student of Patna Medical College who had gone missing from one of the nursing hostels on the campus on Saturday was found on its premises the same evening.
Initially, police were apprehending it as a case of kidnapping but later it was found that the girl had been with her acquaintances.
Three hours after the news spread in the premiere hospital that a girl had been allegedly kidnapped by four boys from the hospital campus, she was found on the PMC premises. The police had started tracing the mobile location of the nursing student and initially it showed somewhere near National Institute of Technology (NIT), Patna, but the mobile network location soon changed to PMC campus and the girl was found at the hospital.
According to PMCH superintendent Deepak Tandon, a case was lodged by the warden of the nursing hostel at Pirbahore police station on Saturday, in which she stated that the nursing student has been "taken away by four boys after she had a small fight with them on the hospital campus".
Police sources said the nursing student had gone with one of her acquaintances after the fight.
"It is not a 'missing' case. The girl had friendly relationship with a boy, who had objected to her closeness with some other boys and he had snatched her mobile phone to check her contacts. The girl went after him to take her mobile phone back. They also had a small fight on the campus," said women police station house officer Vibha Kumari, adding that the girl was kept at the women police station since Saturday after her recovery and she would remain there till her judicial statement is recorded under Section 164 of the CrPC.
Police sources said they had initiated process for recording the judicial statement on Sunday itself.
"We have called the girl's parents. They have come from Begusarai to give their statements," said the police.
