A three-member team has been set up to probe allegations of sexual assault against the jailer of Kishanganj divisional jail, Kripa Shankar Pandey.

Inspector-general (prison directorate and correctional services) Prem Singh Meena said here on Tuesday that a three-member team comprising an additional district magistrate, sub-divisional officer and a sub-divisional police officer has been formed to unravel the truth.

The members of the team visited the jail on Tuesday and inquired about the allegations against the official concerned. A section of jail inmates alleged that the jailer used to force them to indulge in sex. Those who defied his diktats were confined to a room and subsequently beaten up.

The prisoners also complained about sub-standard food served to them. The jailer was also accused of making MMS of unnatural sex with some young inmates of the jail.

He also used to force some inmates to massage in his office. The video clips of the jailer's acts were uploaded on social networking sites on Monday.

"The report is likely to reach the prison directorate in Patna by Wednesday evening," a senior home department official said.

An investigating officer said: "In the video that had gone viral, the jailer was shown forcing the inmates to indulge in sex."

The inmates also alleged that the jailer Pandey used to humiliate and beat them if they resisted his orders.

The inmates told the visiting team that they had also sent the video to top district officials and court two weeks ago for justice. However, there was no response from them.

The jailer, however, denied the allegations and said that he was ready to face inquiry by any investigating agency.
