The body of governors of Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences on Friday gave post-facto approval to a lady associate professor rejoining its nursing college last month.
With this retroactive approval, the lady can expect regular pay. Her services were terminated in May 2013 after she levelled sexual harassment charges against a doctor. Since then her pay was stopped. Even after being reinstated on March 26 this year, she was denied pay over some technical issues. "Today the nursing college associate professor has been reinstated technically also. So there won't be any pay problem now," said an IGIMS body of governors' member.
Health minister Ramdhani Singh chaired the meeting attended by IGIMS director N.R. Biswas (member-secretary of the body) and other members like principal secretary, health, Brajesh Mehrotra, ophthalmologist Sunil Kumar Singh, dermatologist Amar Kant Jha Amar, NMC principal Shiv Kumari Prasad and others.
