Patna, April 25: Two fake train ticket examiners (TTEs) were today arrested from Patna Sahib railway station. The arrested men, Uttar Pradesh residents Satrughan Singh and Manoj Kumar Pandey, claimed they had been trained and also produced appointment letters with the signature of the divisional railway manager, Danapur.
“It seems the men were duped by this person called Abhishek. The arrested men claimed they were brought to the station by Abhishek,” said a police officer.
The duo were checking tickets of passengers on the platform when Rajesh Kumar, the original TTE arrived. An altercation started and the Government Railway Police was informed. The men also produced identity cards.
The police officer said: “It looks like a fake job racket.”
The men said they had been trained in Sonepur and were supposed to give Rs 1 lakh each to Abhishek after they started working.
The police, however, said they would run background checks on Pandey and Singh to find out if they were lying.
