Patna, Jan. 11: In a shocking incident, eight armed men barged into the house of Satya Narayan Singh, a resident of the Shah Jahanpur locality under the Bikram police station area, late last night and looted Rs 3,000, jewellery worth Rs 1 lakh and three firearms.
They killed the domestic help before leaving the house.
Singh, the owner of the house, and his son Ravish are presently lodged in jail in connection with a murder case.
Singh’s wife Nikki Devi and domestic help Rajesh were present at the residence during the incident.
The robbery took place at around 11.30pm, Patna Rural SP Shatraneel Singh told The Telegraph.
“The robbers first broke the steel almirah in the house and looted three fire arms, including a rifle, a double-barrel gun and a pistol.”
The SP said: “In the FIR the family has named four persons who are complainants in the murder case that Singh and his son are serving the sentence for. Moreover, the family claims that the criminals shot Rajesh. We inquired from the neighbours who said they never heard a gun shot. It is a complicated case, which needs detailed investigation.”
Police sources said the criminals had information that firearmss were kept in the almirah. “All the firearms are licensed. The criminals knew about the weapon because the first thing they did after they got into the house was to search for the firearms. They tied up Nikki Devi and then inquired about the firearmss. The steel cupboard of the house was then broken and all three weapons were taken away. After this they looted the cash and jewellery from the house police sources said.
